Oteh pleased to take his chance

3 October 2023

Walsall forward Aramide Oteh is keen to continue taking his opportunities after his industrious display against Bradford City at the weekend.

The 25-year-old scored his second goal of the season at the University of Bradford Stadium on what was just his third start of the campaign in all competitions.

Oteh will be hoping to be involved again when the Saddlers take on MK Dons at the Poundland Bescot Stadium tonight. He wants to continue making a positive contribution and was pleased to add a goal, albeit not the prettiest, at the weekend.

“I did get that final touch but if I’m honest, I don’t remember it that well,” Oteh admitted.

“I remember a great ball from Ross, Isaac flicked it on and I was just there instinctively and I was happy that it went in and I could run off and celebrate with the fans.

“I’ve had to be a bit patient but everyone has to be patient. I was thankful that my opportunity came and I was able to take it, get a goal, work hard for the team and come away with three points.

“I’ll just continue to do that and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

It was certainly an eye-catching result for the Saddlers in front of 17,000 fans at Bradford.

Oteh highlighted the unity the team showed and he has called on his teammates to take that into tonight’s match against Graham Alexander’s side.

“To come to Bradford and get the three points is massive," he said.

"Especially after going 1-0 down but the togetherness we showed we’ve got to take that, use that as fuel and perform on Tuesday against MK Dons and hopefully we’re successful again.”
