Walsall midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe was pleased with his contribution during Saturday’s 5-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers.
The 24-year-old scored a brace and set up Kieran Phillips’ goal in an impressive performance at Aggborough.
Osadebe is keen add more goals and assists this coming season and was encouraged with his and the team’s display against Kidderminster on Saturday,
“The aim for me and the boys was to start how we ended performance wise, get the goals, assists and be ruthless in the final third which we did well,” he said.
“I’m happy to contribute and help the team.
“Assists are part of my game and something I want to do more of. Kieran is someone who likes to get in behind and as soon as I saw him, I just knew. He’s a very good finisher and he put his shot away.”
The Saddlers are back in action this evening with Championship side West Bromwich Albion visiting the Banks’s Stadium.
Osadebe hopes the Saddlers can put their stamp on the game and try and reproduce some of the football shown at the weekend.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he commented.
“We just want to replicate what we did (against Kidderminster). It’s going to be a different test; they might have more of the ball but when we do have the ball, we know what to do now because we had the ball a lot on Saturday but it’s something we’re looking forward to.
“We just want to get after them and be ruthless when we get the chance.
“The three games have been very testing. Kidderminster was slightly different because we knew what to expect from them going back to forward quicker but Palace and Villa were very good learning curves and helped us get our fitness back so I’ve enjoyed all three games so far.”
