Gordon feels he's improving every week

25 February 2020

Walsall striker Josh Gordon feels he is improving every week after scoring his 12th of the season against Port Vale at the weekend.

The 25-year-old is in fine form having scored seven times in his last 14 games.

Gordon has been pleased to see his hard work pay off and has been happy with his progress in recent weeks.

"I think I'm improving each game and obviously the goals are coming as well and that's all that matters,” he said.

"My hard work is always there week-in, week-out and now the goals and the technical side is improving each game as well.

"The main thing is getting results and we need to stop conceding some goals.

"If we can do that then we can do well.”

Gordon was also impressed with his strike partner Elijah Adebayo, who has also found form in the last two games.

The striker enjoys playing with Adebayo and believes that his teammate is also developing well.

"He's doing well and that's all we want from him, consistency,” added Gordon.

"He did well last week and has done it again, if he can keep doing that, he's showing what he's capable of.

"Adding goals as well, we have a good strike force with me, him and Lavs.

"There's good rotation and we're getting the goals.

"He's very strong, he can get the ball to his feet and he's good at rolling players.

"When the ball does come towards his feet you know you can just get into the box.

"It just naturally works with either partnership, we're all quite similar really.
