Head coach up for monthly award...
Walsall head coach Jon Whitney has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month award for March.The 45-year-old guided his side to three wins from three during the month after being handed the managerial reins following Sean O’Driscoll’s departure.
His first game saw Sam Mantom score twice as Walsall came from behind to thrash Chesterfield 4-1 – our first win in seven.
Tom Bradshaw netted the only goal as Walsall edged past Fleetwood 1-0 three days later, before Matt Preston’s stoppage-time winner secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Colchester.
Barnsley interim manager Paul Heckingbottom, Rochdale boss Keith Hill and Colchester’s Kevin Keen have also been shortlisted for the March award.
The winner will be announced on Friday, 8th April.
