TEAM TALK v TRANMERE, 11/1/14

Boss ready for Rovers...

HAVING had a free weekend, we're fully fit and ready to go for Saturday's trip to Tranmere Rovers.

We did something different earlier this week with a two-day trip to the Peak District. It was an extremely worthwhile exercise as it's always good to see the players in a different environment and we set them numerous challenges which they met.

It was good to do something different and enjoy a change of scenery and hopefully we will reap the benefits in the battles that lie ahead.

We now turn our attention to Tranmere. It's ironic that my first game in charge came at Prenton Park exactly three years ago this week.

It's a game that we are looking forward to. They're not doing as well as they did last year, but we are still weary of the threats that they possess and we won't under-estimate them.

Ronnie Moore is an experienced manager and in Ryan Lowe they have a front-man who is in good form. They've also been able to bring in a few fresh faces this month, so it will be a tough test for us.

We showed a lot of character in my first game as manager and we will need more of the same on this occasion.

Like any team at this stage of the season, we feel that we should have more points to our name, but by the same token, we have put ourselves in a good position going into the second half of the season.

We know that we have to be more consistent and we will be looking to achieve that in the months ahead.
