Supporters Trust join forces with the Holden family to raise vital funds and awareness...
MEMBERS of the Walsall FC Football Supporters Trust will be joining forces with the family of Saddlers’ defender, Dean Holden, to raise vital finds for the Meningitis Trust with a bucket collection at Saturday’s home game against Notts County.
Cards, produced in association with the Meningitis Trust, will also be given out to fans at the game to help people recognise the signs and symptoms of a killer illness that comes on so quickly.
We are hoping that no Saddlers fan ever has to go through what Dean and Danielle Holden have had to go through, losing their daughter, Cici Milly Holden, to meningococcal sepsis last summer. Reading the card may save your loved ones life.
As well as Saturday’s collection, a number of auction items have been donated to add to the fund.
Following the recent England Under-21 International that was staged here at Banks’s Stadium, The Football Association has generously donated a signed England shirt.
Continuing on an International theme, there is also a signed Match Programme from the Holland v Northern Ireland International from last year in which Will Grigg made his senior International debut.
Walsall FC has donated Dean Holden's yellow third strip. This item cannot be claimed until the end of the season for obvious reasons, but again we are hoping it will raise a good sum.
We are all immensely proud of the achievements of local boxer and fellow Saddler, Martin Gethin, no more so than when he lifted the British Title at Walsall Town Hall recently.
Martin has now stepped up to the plate by offering a stunning auction item. You could win a training session with our very own British Champion down at the gym!
He has also kindly agreed to donate a signed glove to the successful bidder. This item is sure to be a knockout with Saddlers fans and Boxing fans alike!
Don’t forget that Dean Holden ‘Nutter’ t-shirts are also still on sale from Supporters Trust members with all profits going into the fund.
