HOLDEN RELISHING BATTLES AHEAD

5 November 2012

Experienced defender taking the positives...

EXPERIENCED defender, Dean Holden returned to The Saddlers' back-line following a one-match ban at the weekend as we drew 1-1 at Lincoln City.

"It was a tough game," he said on reflection. "Playing in that type of game is never easy; they raised their game and were difficult to break down.

"They sat behind the ball in the second half but we dug in there and got a lifeline with the equaliser from George towards the end.

"We always take the positives and we're still in the FA Cup and still fighting."

Holden's attention now turns to the battle against Scunthorpe United on Tuesday evening.

"It's another big game," he added. "Scunthorpe haven't started great but they have some good players there who will have fresh impetus from a new manager coming in last week.

"That said, we're on our own patch and have to fancy our chances. We've not got the results we have maybe deserved from recent home games, but it's been a case of sticking together and continuing to work hard and hopefully the results will start to come again.

"We have a busy schedule of matches coming up, but we don't mind that. Playing football is what we are paid to do, so bring it on!

"We've prepared right for the game and we are all fully-focussed on getting the win."
