UNBEATEN RUN CONTINUES

Boss gives his verdict on draw at Crewe...

SADDLERS’ boss, Dean Smith, has given his verdict on our 1-1 draw at Crewe Alexandra as Tom Bradshaw’s deflected second half goal cancelled out the home side’s opener.

“It was by no means a classic,” he admitted. “It was two teams who showed plenty of effort and endeavour but the quality was lacking.

“The conditions didn’t help and the draw was a fair result in the end.

“I felt that we moved the ball well and with a lot more tempo after the break; we didn’t do it in the first half, but we dominated in the second period and deserved at least a point.

“We were a little fortunate with the deflection on the goal, but we are delighted to keep our momentum going and extend our unbeaten run.

“The attention now turns to Swindon on Tuesday. It’s our game in hand and we have to make sure that we are right. It will be nice if we can produce the kind of performance we did at their place last season.”
