Duo up for December accolades...
Sean O’Driscoll and Adam Chambers have been shortlisted for the League One Manager and Player of the Month awards for December.The Saddlers enjoyed an impressive month, winning all four League One fixtures to go top of the division heading into 2016.
Three of those victories came under O’Driscoll, who was appointed as Walsall’s new head coach on 18th December.
The 58-year-old masterminded a 2-0 win over Port Vale in his first game and maintained his 100% start with victories against Millwall and Peterborough.
Sheffield United’s Nigel Adkins, Gillingham’s Justin Edinburgh and Barnsley’s Lee Johnson have also been nominated for the manager award.
As for captain Adam Chambers, the experienced defensive midfielder impressed throughout December, helping us keep three league clean sheets.
He was also named the supporters’ man of the match after our 2-0 home win over promotion-rivals Peterborough.
Chambers is up against Blackpool defender Tom Aldred, Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin and Doncaster striker Andy Williams.
The winner of the League One Manager and Player of the Month awards will be announced this Friday at 8am.
