ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET

25 August 2014

Second clean sheet of the season for O'Donnell...

GOALKEEPER, Richard O’Donnell, kept his second clean sheet in four League games as we came home from Leyton Orient with a point.

“We played well,” he said. “Against a side who are expected to be up there again this season, we defended well and created chances.

“I felt that in the end we deserved more than a point, but we’ll take the positives and move on to the next game.

“It was important for us to respond in the right way from our last game and we did that. It shows the character that we have in the side that we are able to do that and when you look at the likes of Dean Holden who has slotted straight back in after a long time out and Liam Kinsella who has come in and taken his chance, it certainly bodes well for us.”

The challenge now for O’Donnell is to keep Crystal Palace at bay in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup second round clash at Banks’s Stadium.

“We’ve approached the game in exactly the same way as we always do,” he added. “We go into the game with confidence and belief; we’ve showed the type of football that we are capable of and now we have the chance to do it against top-flight opposition.

“I know that if we perform to the levels that we have done, we’ll compete with Palace.

“Anything can happen, that’s why we love the game.”
