FEELING FRESH

Mantom ready for final two games...

THERE may be just two games remaining this season, but midfield man, Sam Mantom, is feeling fresh.

Last year's Player of the Season has seen the current campaign blighted by a niggling knee problem, but having returned to action last month, he is ending the season in upbeat mood.

"I'm feeling fresh," he said with a smile. "It's been a tough season for me, but I am determined to end it on a high.

"The knee feels good and I am looking forward to playing my part in these final two games of the season.

"I'm going to be spending most of May and June doing power and fitness work so that I can go into the new season flying.

"Being out injured for so long was the toughest time I have ever had to deal with. It was a case of doing the same thing day in, day out and it was a long and sometimes lonely road.

"That said, the backroom staff here are great and they have kept me in good spirits. We've got a tight-knit group here and we thrive on the togetherness and team spirit. This is a place where you can express yourself.

"There is no doubt that the experience will make me stronger and now my focus is on helping us get six points from these remaining games and beat our points tally from last season.

"I will be nice to put on a show for the fans against Oldham and sign off our home games with a win."
