DOUBLE FIGURES FOR BRADSHAW

16 December 2014

Personal landmark for leading scorer...

LEADING scorer, Tom Bradshaw’s goal in the 3-1 victory over Barnsley on Saturday saw him reach double figures for the season so far.

“It’s a personal landmark to reach ten,” he said. “It’s the first time that I have done that in my career and to get there before Christmas and having missed seven or eight games through injury, makes it even more special.

“My aim is to get to 15 now and then take it from there.

“The most important thing, though, is that we’re getting points on the board and moving up the League One table.

“Momentum is so crucial in football and we have that; we’re playing well and with plenty of heart, so it all bodes well.

“On Saturday we recovered from a slightly slow start to run out convincing winners. Jordan [Cook] took his goals really well and obviously I was pleased to get my name on the scoresheet too.

“The lads showed great character once again to come from behind and once we were back in the game, there was only going to be one winner.

“As a team we believe that we are good enough to be in the play-offs and with the games coming thick and fast over the festive period, that is our aim.

“The confidence and faith that the Gaffer has shown in me personally has really helped and our style of play suits me down to the ground, so it has been a really positive first half of the season for me. Hopefully this can continue.”
