Supporters Guide: Walsall v Accrington Stanley

19 January 2024

Walsall are back at the Poundland Bescot Stadium on Saturday to take on Accrington Stanley.

Here is a useful guide for supporters attending the match.

COMMUNITY MATCHDAY

The Saddlers will celebrate the EFL Community weekend at this weekend’s match against Accrington Stanley.

This gives us the opportunity to shine the light on the fantastic work Walsall FC Foundation does in our community.

We will also invite young supporter, Alfie, to the game as our Community Champion.

Saddlers fans may remember that Alfie was mascot along with his friend, and Grimsby Town fan, Reggie at our match against the Mariners back in August.

Unfortunately, Alfie suffers from a complex heart condition and has undergone multiple high-risk surgeries.

His bravery has been recognised after he won a Your Heroes Child of Courage award.

Walsall Football Club will invite Alfie to the training ground to visit the players and he will also attend Saturday’s match.

Read more about the Community Weekend.

TRAVEL

RAIL: We have been informed that engineering works have been taking place between Walsall and Rugeley Trent Valley. As a result, trains on this route will only run between Birmingham International/Birmingham New Street and Walsall.

Rail replacement buses will run between Walsall and Rugeley Trent Valley.

Rail replacement vehicles may be busier than normal so please allow extra time when planning your journey.

Visit National Rail for the latest timetables.

Plan your journey using the Transport for West Midlands Journey planner here.

CAR: In order to manage a smooth exit from the Poundland Bescot Stadium after the final whislte, supporters who are planning to park on the Green Zone car park will exit the car park from an alternative route.

Stewards will be on hand to direct supporters past the astro turf pitch before directing you towards the Park Hotel exit and turning left onto Bescot Crescent before turning left again onto Alexandra Road - this will be in place as a trial to manage any potential traffic congestion following the game.

We expect the Ticket Office to be very busy so please allow yourself plenty of time.

CLUB SHOP

The Club Shop at the Poundland Bescot Stadium will also be open from 11am right until kick-off.

Our sale on Errea items continues so head down to the store to take advantage of the discounted prices!

We expect the shop to be busy so please allow yourself enough time to browse through our recently revamped store!

THE LOCKER

The Locker will be officially opening its doors at Saturday’s match.

The facility will officially be opened by Co-Chairman Leigh Pomlett and Head Coach Mat Sadler at Midday and supporters are welcome to join us for the cutting of the ribbon.

Following two successful test events in December, all feedback has been taken on board via feedback forms as we look to continually improve the venue. QR codes linking to a new survey will continue to be available for supporters to give their feedback.

The 12.30pm Premier League game between Arsenal and Crystal Palace will be shown in the Locker, as will the 5.30pm kick-off between Brentford and Nottingham Forest.

All Season Ticket holders and Members will be able to gain entry into the Locker for FREE by showing their physical or digital Season Ticket/Membership Card.

Non-members will be able to access the venue by paying an entry fee of £5 for Adults, £2.50 Juniors.

JUNIOR FAN ZONE

The Junior Fan Zone in the Experienced Energy Solutions Community Stand will be open from 1pm on Saturday.

TEXT SERVICE

We have a text service for supporters who can anonymously report any incidents they see inside or outside the stadium.

Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.

If you see or hear any forms of discriminative behaviour during your visit, please text 07585 858 030 as soon as possible with details of the incident and location in the stadium so that it can be dealt with.

Please note that incidents that are reported after the game will be picked up during the normal office hours.

STADIUM SUITE

The Stadium Suite will be open from Midday to all home supporters.

It will also be open during the half time interval but will close at the end of the half-time break and will not be open after the game.

This will be the case for the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

We expect the suite to be busy before the match. It is licensed to a certain capacity and should we reach that capacity, we will be unable to accommodate further supporters so please be aware entry to the Stadium Suite is on a first come first serve basis.

Please note, the blinds in the suite will close 15 minutes before kick-off. This is a legislation that all Premier League and EFL clubs adhere to.
