Freddie Draper recalled by parent club Lincoln City

5 January 2024

Walsall Football Club can confirm that striker Freddie Draper has been recalled by parent club Lincoln City.

Freddie initially joined on a season long loan, having previously had a spell at Drogheda United where he was identified, and despite our best efforts to retain him for the remainder of his loan spell, Lincoln have made the decision to recall him given the injuries within their squad.

The 19-year-old has excelled during his spell at the Poundland Bescot Stadium, scoring 10 goals in 24 games which included his first professional hat-trick in a 3-3 draw with Newport County back in October.

His final appearance for the Saddlers came away at Grimsby Town on New Year’s Day where he was forced off with an injury in the first half.

Whilst we are disappointed Freddie will be returning to Sincil Bank, there remains a good core of forwards in the team and we look forward to the return of Aramide Oteh from injury after a lengthy absence.

With the January transfer window now open, the club are working hard to strengthen the squad.

We would like to thank Freddie for his efforts and contributions during his time at the Poundland Bescot Stadium and we wish him the best of luck for the future.
