Walsall Head Coach Mat Sadler praised the impact of every player who was involved in last night’s 3-0 victory over Morecambe.
Ross Tierney, Jamille Matt and Emmanuel Adegboyega got on the scoresheet on what turned out to be a comfortable night for the Saddlers.
Sadler was pleased with everyone's contributions and felt it was a complete performance from his team.
“The lads were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole game,” he said.
“It was a back three who had 45 minutes together in the last game, rolled out again (last night) and I thought they were absolutely brilliant.
“Jacko (Jackson Smith), the back three, the two wing-backs and Coms (Brandon Comley) in front of it were brilliant.
“It was a proper team performance, we got a load of subs on there and I keep saying all the time, everyone has to be ready and they all were ready to come and make an impact. It was a fantastic performance from start to finish.”
The Saddlers achieved victory without central defenders Donervon Daniels and Priestley Farquharson but a youthful back three of Adegboyega, David Okagbue and Taylor Allen all stepped up superbly and Sadler has been impressed with how the trio have gelled together.
“Those relationships are really growing,” Sadler commented.
“I thought Taylor was brilliant. The way he spoke through the game, his distribution is obviously very good but more importantly, his defending was really good.
“Dave, he’s an extremely youthful player but he’s playing really well at the moment and he’s done really well for us for a long time now and then we go to Manny who has had a real introduction to league football and I’m delighted for him but most importantly I thought his defending was good.
“We were front foot, we were resilient and we were hard working – all the things that I want from the team, they were so brilliant performance and a good night.”
