Walsall midfielder Jack Earing has been pleased with his return from injury so far this term and is hoping he can make a big impact towards the back end of the season.
After a long-term injury, Earing has felt the support from his teammates and manager alike, which has allowed him to play with confidence once again.
“I have loved coming back. I’ve obviously had a year off and in the treatment room you dream of coming back and playing as many games as possible,” he said.
“Getting back in the team has been good, the gaffer has trusted me, and I have fitted in with the boys really well, especially on the left-hand side with Donervon and Liam.
“I feel good and I’m just ready to kick on really and pick up some results.”
With Earing only recently returning from a prolonged period on the sidelines, he knows he needs to manage himself in this busy part of the season so the team can get the best out of him.
“I have been managed really well by the staff. Obviously, I have been out for a year so I have had a few rests with some niggles here and there, especially at the start of my return,” he explained.
“My body feels OK, I am adapting to the Saturday-Tuesday games, maybe I have not lasted as long as I wanted to but that is just down to fatigue and coming back from a long lay-off.
“Each week I am getting fitter and stronger so hopefully I can keep progressing.”
With the Saddlers facing an inform Mansfield Town side on Saturday, Earing feels it is important to get back to winning ways, especially at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.
“I think bar our last home game against Newport, where we knew we were not at our best, we have been strong at home and will continue to be a strong force, especially with the fans behind us,” he commented.
“We know Mansfield are a very good side. They are up there for a reason and have got very good players, we know they are a threat but there is no reason why we can’t show what we are about.
“We have got some threats in our team on our day, I just think we need to utilise our strengths and just give them a good game, hopefully coming out with the three points.”
