Walsall Women came from behind to earn a creditable 2-2 draw in a friendly against Sporting Khalsa Development on Sunday.
The Saddlers found themselves 2-0 down at half time against a Khalsa side who ply their trade two divisions above them.
It was a much improved second half despite the difficult, hot weather conditions. Walsall got back into the game when Aaliyah Shearer found the net with a fantastic header and her second in as many games.
The Saddlers completed the comeback and levelled the match when Saanya Najib converted a penalty.
It was an encouraging afternoon in difficult conditions against a well drilled Sporting Khalsa.
After opening their league season with a 3-0 victory over Darlaston Town (1874) Ladies at the Poundland Bescot Stadium a week previously, Walsall Women have some good momentum to take into this Sunday's league outing away at Coventry City Women.
