It was a successful weekend for our lads out on loan!
Midfielder Ronan Maher got two assists and was included in the Non-League Paper’s National League North Team of the Weekend after a standout performance in Rushall Olympic’s 5-0 victory over high-flying Chorley.
The victory sees Rushall lie in 19th place, just outside the relegation places.
Maher was pleased with his and the team’s performance and the way they implemented their gameplan.
“We had a good week to prepare for the game and we did some good analysis about what they were going to be like,” he explained.
“We had a gameplan and we stuck to it. The word we used was pressure and we put pressure on them and it worked as the scoreline says.
“I played a good game, got two assists, the team had a good game and everyone was happy with the win against a team who were in the play-offs.”
Maher has firmly got his feet under the table at Dales Lane and is now a regular in their team.
He’s happy to be regularly getting 90 minutes under his belt and pleased with how his loan is going so far.
“I’m really enjoying it,” he said.
“I’ve been here for 10 games now, I’ve started seven, come off the bench twice and didn’t feature in one game. Five of those have been 90 minutes and it’s really positive for me to get 90 minutes under my belt.
“These Saturday-Tuesday games coming up are going to be really good.
“When I first starting playing 90 minutes, it took time to get used to but now I’m in full flow and really enjoying my football.”
Elsewhere, Marvellous Onabirekhanlen scored his first goal for Chasetown in their 3-2 win over Bootle in Pitching In Northern Premier League West Division.
Chasetown are currently eighth in the table.
Finally, George Barrett’s loan with Paget Rangers has come to an end.
He has now joined Dudley Town on a youth loan.
