FROM THE DUGOUT

Mat Sadler: “They’re a really good team, they’ve got a deep squad and they’re showing that in their performances. It’s a fantastic challenge for us and we’re looking forward to the game.”

Nigel Clough: "We've got four on the spin at home now, a league game and three different cup competitions so it's a big 10 days. We've got to keep it going, each time we say 'not today, don't lose today' and that's what we'll be saying on Saturday."

TEAM NEWS

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Walsall and Mansfield have met 65 times overall in all competitions.

In recent years, there has been little to separate to the two clubs with two victories apiece and two draws out of the last six meetings.

The victories have favoured the home side while the two draws came in the 2020-21 season.

Walsall’s last victory at Mansfield was a 3-1 victory back in December 1994.

The Stags last tasted defeat on April 29th at the back end of last season against Harrogate Town.

Since the start of the 2021-22 season, Mansfield have lost just 10 times at the One Call Stadium in the league.

The Saddlers have won just twice on the road so far this campaign but have netted 13 goals away from home in eight league games and will be keen to build on their last away outing which was a 3-3 draw at Newport County.
