Walsall Women back to winning ways in emphatic style

14 November 2023

Walsall Women got back to winning ways as Mia Fellows’ hat-trick helped them to an emphatic 7-2 victory over Coventrians Ladies at Dales Lane on Sunday.

The Saddlers went into the game having lost back-to-back games against Leek Town Ladies Reserves in the league and cup respectively.

Walsall fell behind but responded well and equalised through Emily Golding.

The hosts turned the game on its head as Saanya Najib got on the scoresheet.

Walsall extended their lead when Rhiannon Bate found the net to round off the first half.

The Saddlers took momentum into the second period and added a fourth when Fellows got her first of the afternoon.

It got better for Walsall when Macie Golding got in on the act and netted the fifth.

Coventrians pulled one back but Steve Guest’s team didn’t settle and Fellows scored two further goals to complete her hat-trick and round off a ruthless performance.

The victory takes Walsall up to fifth place in the West Midlands Regional Women's Football League Division One table.

Walsall Women are back in action on the Sunday 26th November with a trip to Lichfield City Ladies Reserves in the league.
