Comley confident Saddlers can turn their fortunes around

9 March 2023

Saddlers midfielder Brandon Comley is keen to build off the solid defensive base that the team have heading into this weekend's game against Stevenage.

Comley, who has been a linchpin in the midfield over the duration of the season, put in another top performance on Tuesday night against high-flying Bradford City and whilst admitting that the team were disappointed not to pick up all three points on Tuesday night, they know that if performance levels remain at that standard, the wins will soon come.

"Obviously the boys are all disappointed" said Comley. "At the moment it seems like we can just get that bit of luck with the ball dropping for us which I have probably said before.

"It feels like we are performing well for the majority of the time but that last bit won't click for us and that is what is letting us down.

"The boys wanted to react from the loss on Saturday against Barrow and definitely not go under and spiral down and get another loss against Bradford.

"It was a good reaction but unfortunately we couldn't put the icing on the cake and get the three points.

"It's better to go into the game this weekend against Stevenage having drawn against Bradford rather than having lost it.

"Hopefully we will be able to kick on and go and get the three points against Stevenage and start building and get to where we want to be as a group.

"We have got a great base to build off because the defence is very solid and I think once that other half clicks and the ball starts going in the back of the net we will be flying."
