Goalkeeper Owen Evans is enjoying the positive atmosphere that has been created within the camp and around the club.
The Saddlers go into Saturday’s match against Tranmere Rovers on the back of positive results in the league and Emirates FA Cup and will be looking to continue their winning start to 2023 this weekend.
Evans has praised the togetherness within the group and is hoping to build on it further in the coming weeks.
“There’s a really positive atmosphere around the place at the moment,” he said.
“It’s been the case for the last few months or so; we have belief in each other, in the system and have that never say die attitude in games so we’re riding the wave at the moment and hopefully we can continue to build on this.
“It’s testament to the management staff; they’ve believed in us since day one and are confident in our abilities and we as a group appreciate that.
“We’re all in it together and it’s an enjoyable environment to be involved in.”
Michael Flynn’s side head into Saturday’s game four places above opponents Tranmere in the table but with only two points separating the two sides and games coming thick and fast, Evans believes there will be twists and turns between now and the end of the season.
“We’re in for another difficult game,” he added.
“Tranmere is always a tough place to go and we know we will need to be at our best to get a positive result.
“It’s a tight league at the minute which is good because it keeps it competitive and Saturday’s game is another opportunity for us to go out there and perform and try and add another three points to our name.
“The support from the fans will be crucial to us, they’ve drove us on in some games to victory, especially against Stockport in the FA Cup last week.
“It’s always appreciated by me and the lads and it will be welcomed again on Saturday and hopefully we can send them home happy.”
