Comley keen to keep up the good tempo

20 January 2023

Walsall midfielder Brandon Comley is keen to keep up the good tempo when Swindon Town visit the Poundland Bescot Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The Saddlers have lost just one of their last 13 matches but they will be looking to get back to winning ways after drawing to Tranmere Rovers last weekend.

Comley is expecting a tough test against the Robins, who beat Grimsby Town 5-0 last weekend, but is hoping to continue producing the good performance levels of recent weeks and meet the standards expected of the Head Coach.

“The gaffer’s demanding of us,” he said.

“He gives us our time to rest but when it’s work time, everyone’s at it and we’re pushing. It’s definitely something that the gaffer demands.

“The boys are very happy with the output we’ve been showing over recent months, it’s something we’ve been working hard on in training, trying to keep up that enthusiasm and tempo, so fingers crossed we can continue it come the weekend.

“Every game is a tough test in this league, any team can beat any team on their day so it’s a game we’ll do our analysis, work hard on what we can work hard on and go into it trying to get a win, as we do every week.”

The Saddlers are back at home for the first time since New Year’s Day and Comley is looking forward to playing in front of the home supporters, who he was full of praise for.

“The supporters at home are great, they’re like the 12th man for us,” he commented.

“They give us a great boost and the support is really appreciated.”
