Joe Low looking for a reaction following defeat against Salford City

2 February 2023

Defender Joe Low is looking to bounce back quickly following Tuesday’s defeat against Salford City.

The on-loan Bristol City man made his full professional league debut at the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday night and he admitted that going a goal down so early on against a team in fine form at home was always going to be an uphill battle for the group.

“Going behind so early on means it’s just an uphill battle from there,” Low began. “It was a tough game for us to fight and get our way into and obviously we weren’t able to do it today.

“I thought they managed their game well and they used their strengths well with their big striker up front which was difficult to deal with but all credit to them, they dealt with it well.

“The games are coming thick and fast so we can always look to bounce back quickly after games like this evening so hopefully we can do that on Saturday.

“It’s a proud moment for me making my league debut but losing the game dampens the mood a bit but I am really happy to finally get my first start.”

The 20-year-old was one of six signings made by Head Coach Michael Flynn during the January transfer window and revealed post-match that his team mates have really helped him settle into his new surroundings.

“The lads have been brilliant,” he continued. “I have settled in well and everyone has put an arm round me and helped me with moving up here and getting used to the environment.”
