Walsall Women attend Walsall v Sutton United

4 April 2023

Walsall Women were in attendance at the men’s first team match against Sutton United last weekend.

The squad, along with Manager Steve Guest, were introduced at half time to look ahead to their game against Port Vale which will be held at the Poundland Bescot Stadium after the men’s match against Salford City on Saturday 22nd April.

Steve and captain Abi Turner discussed the season so far and their excitement about the upcoming match at the Poundland Bescot Stadium.

In their most recent outing, Walsall Women slipped to a 3-0 defeat away to Tamworth FC Women.

The Saddlers found themselves a goal behind at half time but couldn’t find a way back in the second half as Tamworth added two more to their tally.

Marianne Lennon bagged a brace while Daisy Wynn netted the other goal for the hosts.

It was Walsall Women’s first league match since 26th February in what’s been a frustrating period of postponed matches.

The Saddlers travel to Shifnal Town Ladies on Sunday 9th April in their next league outing.
