Walsall forward Andy Williams is hoping hard work will pay off soon for the team.
The Saddlers travel to Edgeley Park to face Stockport County tomorrow as they look to end their frustrating winless sequence.
Stockport are finding their feet back in League Two after promotion from the National League and Williams is expecting a difficult but close duel against the Hatters.
“I think they’re a good team,” Williams said.
“It’s not an easy league to get out of the National League and any team that comes up tends to do well in League Two.
“I don’t think they’re doing any different, it will be a tough place to go and they’ll have a good crowd.
“It will be a tough game for us, there are no easy games at this level, the league is quite tight and that will show. We’ve worked hard and if we go and work hard again at the weekend hopefully the result will happen.
“You can see that in the group, we worked harder than we could this week and the theory always is the harder you work, the luckier you get and hopefully that will show for the weekend or at least in the coming games that we really are getting our heads down, working as hard as we can and things will change eventually.”
A huge army of Saddlers fans are set to make the trip to Stockport tomorrow and Williams has praised the level of support this season and is desperate to reward the fans with three points.
“They’ve followed us around well so far; it’s been incredible considering we haven’t given them a great deal to cheer about,” he commented.
“Hopefully, if they stick with us and keep supporting us and follow us everywhere we go, we’ll give them some rewards sooner rather than later and hopefully we can celebrate together a bit more than what we are currently.”
