Walsall defender Taylor Allen is keen to start an important seven days with a positive result against Sutton United on Saturday.
After tomorrow’s trip to London, the Saddlers host Harrogate Town on Tuesday and Rochdale next Saturday in what’s set to be a busy week for Michael Flynn’s men.
Allen is hoping the team can give themselves a good springboard to take in to a busy week but is under no illusion of the challenge standing in their way at the VBS Community Stadium tomorrow.
“Sutton are a really physical team and we know exactly what we are going to be coming up against,” Allen said.
“We have to be up for a battle against them and if we all do our jobs, we know we are confident enough going into it that we can bring something away from the game.
“It’s going to be a really important week for us with the Sutton game before we have back-to-back home games and if we can start it of right, it could set us up to have a good week and you never know, it could really kick-start our season if we can have another good week.”
Around 300 Saddlers fans are expected to make the journey to Sutton tomorrow afternoon.
Allen is keen send supporters home happy and was full of praise for the way the fans have got behind the team this season.
“The support has been fantastic both home and away this season,” he commented.
“The fans really drive us on in games and with the followings we have had away from home, it can create a really good spirit and atmosphere for us as players and it can give us that extra couple of percent that we need to get something from the game.
“As a group we don’t underestimate the support that we receive and we will keep working hard to pick up results and points for the fans.”
