Stephen Guest appointed as new manager of Walsall Women

15 November 2022

Walsall FC Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Guest as our new First Team Manager.

Stephen is currently a UEFA B Licence Coach and currently works for Burton Albion Community Trust as Women's and Girls Co-ordinator.

He has previous experience in Women's Football with Burton Albion Women as Development Team Manager and First Team Assistant Manager between 2018-2020 and then became Under 18 Head Coach for Burton Albion Girls for the 2020-2021 Season.

Alongside that, Stephen has held various coaching positions within the men's game at clubs such as Eastwood Community FC, Ashby Ivanhoe FC, Coalville Town FC and Blackheath Town FC.

Stephen will also be joined by new Assistant Manager Lauren Wiggins.

He is looking forward to the task ahead and excited to take charge of Walsall Women.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone at Walsall Football Club for the opportunity on becoming the Walsall Women’s First Team Manager,” he said.

“We are looking forward to the challenge the season will bring. Myself and Lauren are hopeful we can carry on moving this squad forward, create a pathway for young Saddlers who can come though the youth teams and mostly, build something that all Walsall fans will be excited about and want to come along and support each week.”

We welcome them both to the Club.

Walsall Women won 2-1 in their last league outing against Coventry City on Sunday November 6th.

Leah Shearer and Shannon Workman were on the scoresheet for the Saddlers.
