Timmy Abraham joins the Saddlers

26 July 2022

Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Timmy Abraham on a one-year contract.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a successful trial with the Saddlers this summer and featured in a number of pre-season friendlies.

Abraham, brother of AS Roma striker Tammy, began his career at Fulham where he featured in the Papa John’s Trophy. In 2019-20, he scored twice in the competition against Wycombe Wanderers and Stevenage.

He spent last season on loan in Sky Bet League Two with Newport County, where he worked under Saddlers Head Coach Michael Flynn.

The forward netted three times in 17 outings for the Exiles last term.

He also enjoyed loan spells at Bristol Rovers, Plymouth Argyle and Raith Rovers.

Abraham is looking forward to his new challenge with the Saddlers after his successful trial period.

“I’m very happy to be able to come here and play for this team and put this shirt on.

“I’ve enjoyed integrating with the boys, getting to know the environment and the coaching staff.

“I love running in behind, I love working hard for the team, scoring goals and assisting and hopefully, here is where I start that period of consistent goals and assists.

"I’m very excited and looking forward to it."

Flynn was impressed with the determination Timmy has shown while on trial and is looking forward to working with him.

“Timmy has done well in pre-season,” Flynn said.

“He showed a real work ethic and desire to try and earn a contract here.

“What he adds to the squad is unbelievable pace.

“He’s a smashing lad, he works hard and now we’ve got to try and improve him in certain areas for him to hopefully fulfil the potential he could have.”
