Saddlers prepared for new campaign insists Hutchinson

29 July 2022

Walsall midfielder Isaac Hutchinson is excited for the start of the new season and feels the players are well prepared for the big kick off.

The Saddlers will be looking to get off to a strong start as Hartlepool United visit the Poundland Bescot Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The 22-year-old is pleased with how the pre-season campaign went and is now looking forward to playing for league points.

“We have all been buzzing to get to this week to be honest,” he said.

“There is nothing like the first game of the season. I scored one goal in pre-season; I want to keep doing that hopefully I can get a few more.

“We are in a good place and pre-season has only helped us. We have got everything that we need to get done, done and we are in a good place going into the first game of the season against Hartlepool.”

Hutchinson is one of 15 new summer signings who will be looking to hit the ground running in a Saddlers shirt.

He’s enjoyed working hard over pre-season and has settled in really well.

“I have loved it,” he commented.

“It has been pretty easy; all of the boys have been class with all of us signings and they have made us feel at home straight away.

“I am enjoying it; I have enjoyed the football and I have enjoyed getting to know the boys as well.

“It’s definitely been one of the tougher pre-seasons that I have had. There has been a lot of running but on the flip side, the games have gone well and I have really enjoyed them.

“I have enjoyed playing with the other boys and getting to know their games and them getting to know mine and I think we have gone from strength to strength in every game.”
