Menayese signs permanent Saddlers deal

4 January 2022

Walsall Football Club are delighted to confirm that defender Rollin Menayese has joined on a permanent deal until 2024 for an undisclosed fee from Mansfield Town.

The 24-year-old initially signed on loan in the summer and has played 25 times for the Saddlers so far this season.

Menayese has impressed during his first six months at the club and is over the moon to make the Banks's Stadium his permanent home.

"I am delighted to finally get it over the line," Menayese said.

"As soon as the manager talked about it, I was really happy and it was something that I really wanted to do.

"Overall, I think Walsall is a really good club. We have good fans, we have a good team with a good manager, good facilities and I feel like it is a good place for me to be at right now.

"I am enjoying my football and I want to carry on doing that.

"As soon as I got my opportunity to play, I have felt comfortable at the back and I want to carry on what I have been doing previously between now and the end of the season.

"It has been very good working with the manager and I am enjoying working with him. I think he understands me as a player, he knows my strengths and my weaknesses.

"Every day he is trying to improve me and he pushes me to be a better player."

Head Coach Matt Taylor was also pleased to secure Menayese's services on a permanent basis and believes he will continue to improve.

"Rollin now is in a position where we as a football club are extremely pleased to have him," Taylor added.

"I feel there is far much more to come from him.

"He’s a player that we see as a member of the squad that can help us get to where we want to get to."
