Job Title: Academy Manager
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Location: The Banks’s Stadium, Walsall FC, Bescot Crescent, Walsall, WS1 4SA
Reporting to: Technical Director
Responsible for: Strategic Direction of the Academy
Contractual Status: Permanent
Hours of Work: Standard working week of a minimum of 40 hours, excluding meal breaks of half an hour daily. In addition, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings, weekends and on bank holidays and on public holidays for match days and other business events. Not suitable for job share.
Walsall Football Club are looking to recruit a highly skilled, qualified and experienced Academy Manager who will be responsible for the management of the club’s EPPP Academy designed to support and develop talented players into the first team and to co-ordinate and manage the Academy Programme - the role will also support with coaching the U18 Scholars.
Duties and responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Academy Manager shall include but are not limited to (unless otherwise approved by the Board):

Qualifications:
The Academy Manager must hold:
- an up to date UEFA A Licence; and
- an FA Youth Award; and
- an FA Advanced Youth Award; and
- Any other such qualification as deemed necessary from time to time by the EFL.
The Academy Manager must also undertake Continued Professional Development organised by the Club. In addition, where the Academy Manager holds a qualification set out in EFL Rule 57, he must attend such training provided by The Football Association as is necessary to maintain the validity of that qualification and at least five hours of in-service training to be provided by the League every year and hold a current Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification, current EFAiF or an equivalent or higher qualification approved by the EFL Board.

New regulations require clubs to shortlist at least one suitably qualified BAME candidate (where an application has been received) for all roles in Academy football that require a UEFA ‘A’ or UEFA ‘B’ Licence.
