Jack Earing looking for intensity against Bristol Rovers

28 January 2022

Midfielder Jack Earing is looking to take the same intensity that the group had during Tuesday’s game against Bradford City into Saturday’s trip to Bristol Rovers.

Joey Barton’s side are unbeaten in their last four league home games and Earing knows that it’s going to be another tough test for the Saddlers but the versatile midfielder is confident that the team are fully prepared going into the fixture.

“The intensity on Tuesday night was so much better than it was against Exeter last weekend and it’s all about taking that into the game against Bristol Rovers,” said Earing.

“The arrival of Donervon (Daniels) seemed to change something for everyone inside the stadium from ourselves to the fans and I think they sensed something.

“As players, feeling like something was bubbling away inside the stadium I think drove us on and allowed us to really up our performance level.

“On Saturday, we have got to take that intensity and performance level into the game which we know will be a tough one.

“It’s a very tough ground to go to, I know they’re on a little bit of a good run at the moment and they have a good manager there as well who sets up his team and his players very well.

“He knows how to get them going and I think it is going to be an aggressive and very physical game.

“The gaffer has gone over plenty of details about Bristol Rovers so we will make sure we are ready going into the game.

“I think for ourselves, we need to focus on what we are doing as a group rather than what Bristol Rovers are doing.

“We have been working hard on plenty of details going into this game and as a group we feel as though we are fully prepared going into this one.”
