George Miller delighted with goal against Forest Green

22 February 2022

Walsall striker George Miller was pleased to get back on the scoresheet on Saturday and felt scoring early was key.

The 23-year-old bagged his ninth goal of the campaign with the winning goal at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Miller felt the timing of his goal was important on Saturday.

He’ll be looking for more of the same against Swindon Town this evening as he was particularly pleased with his finish.

“Those are my favourite kind of finishes on my right foot, a little side foot finish,” he said.

“I haven’t had many of them lately. On the Ty (Tyrese Shade) chance moments before the goal, he has sort of had a cross-shot that’s just missed me but a goal is a goal and I am happy.

“Getting the early goal gives you a platform to have something to hold on to.

“We had a bit of creativity and I think we haven’t been creating much recently.

“Paddy (Emmanuel Osadebe) has put a great ball into me and I have done my job. It was one of the easier chances I have had recently so I am thankful for that and it was a good win.”

The Saddlers will be looking to for their third consecutive victory when they head to the County Ground this evening.

Head Coach Michael Flynn is confident heading into tonight’s match.

“I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be a tough game,” he commented.

“They’ve been there or thereabouts all season and it’s a club who are trying to get out of the league.

“I’m sure it’s going to be a tough game but it’s one we’re going in full of confidence.”

We’d like to wish all Saddlers fans heading to Swindon a safe journey.
