Head Coach Michael Flynn has once again praised supporters following their fantastic backing at the County Ground on Boxing Day as the Saddlers secured a late win against Swindon Town.
An unlikely source in Manny Monthe scored the decisive goal in the 94th minute to earn the Saddlers their fourth straight win in all competitions and Flynn was over the moon that the travelling faithful were sent home with something extra to cheer about.
“It’s a gift for everyone with Emmanuel scoring, he doesn’t score as many as he should but you can hear the fans in the background, they have been fantastic” Flynn said.
“It’s Christmas time and there has been a lot of expense spent but for them to come and follow us and support us the way they have, I am pleased for them for us to get the result because I thought we were the better team and we had the better chances.
“We had an 11-v-11 in the week and worked on how Swindon would play and how we could counteract them and Manny actually scored in that one from a corner so maybe it was written in the stars.
“It is a big big win but I am not getting carried away. Swindon are a good team and we have just got to back it up now in the next game, it’s as simple as that.”
