Hayden White keen to right the wrongs from last weekend

8 April 2022

Walsall defender Hayden White is keen to put last weekend’s disappointing result behind him after a solid week on the training field.

The Saddlers suffered their first home defeat since February 5th against Leyton Orient last time out and will be looking to respond when they take on Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena tomorrow afternoon.

White admits the team have lacked consistency but insists they have worked hard this week to put it right.

“We’ve had a good week of training,” he said.

“We were all disappointed with the result last week.

“We’ve shown that we’re a lot better than that and going into the game tomorrow we need to go out and put that right.

“We probably haven’t been consistent enough in putting those results together for long enough and longer periods.

“We just want to end as strong as possible so a positive result tomorrow will put us in the right direction for that.”

White has featured 40 times so far this campaign and is keen to continue playing regularly and contributing to the team.

Attention is firmly on tomorrow’s match against Rochdale, who currently sit in 20th position but White stressed the team will need to put in a strong performance to get a result.

“As I’ve said before, there’s no easy games in this league,” he commented.

“We’ve gone to the top five teams and beat them, it’s more the teams in and around us so we need to go there and put in a performance we know we can put in.

“I’m not over the moon with where we are and where we’re likely to finish. I was brought in to play games, I think I’ve done that and long may it continue.”
