Walsall defender Rollin Menayese is excited to be participating in the Emirates FA Cup.
The Saddlers travel to National League outfit King’s Lynn Town in the first round on Saturday, looking to reach the second round for the first time in two years.
The 23-year-old has fond memories watching the FA Cup on TV growing up and is keen to ensure he is not on the end of a shock.
He also hopes to go on a cup run with Walsall as well.
“You grow up watching the FA Cup on tele, watching the big teams play against the little teams so we’re really excited to be there and hopefully we can have a good cup run,” he said.
“You see a lot of upsets on the television and if you’re not at it and you’re not playing well, anyone can beat anyone, especially in the cup so you’ve got to make sure you’re playing to the best of your abilities.
“We’ve got two cup games coming up so we want to keep that momentum going and take it further.
“We take it one game at a time, we understand it’s not going to be an easy game, especially away from home. They’ll be excited for the game and so are we.
"We just want to give our all to get through to the next round.”
The Saddlers will be back by 618 supporters at King’s Lynn and Menayese has been grateful of the support the team has received this season.
“The support is fantastic,” he commented.
“We’re a big club in the league and we appreciate the support. We know that we’ve got to put in a performance for them first and foremost and make sure that we put a shift in so we can get the result.
"I feel like during the games it helps knowing that your fans are there and you can hear them.”
