Walsall winger Wes McDonald insists the team need to keep pushing as they prepare to take on Mansfield Town tomorrow.
The Saddlers picked up a 3-1 victory last time out against Port Vale after a clinical display.
Mansfield have won their last five league matches and McDonald stressed the players need to be at it from the first whistle.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw back in October but had chances to win the game and McDonald feels the team perhaps should have accumulated more points so far this season.
"Some of the games we should have come away with all three points,” McDonald said.
"A lot of the other players think so as well.
"We just have to keep pushing and keep cracking on really.
"We're getting in the positions and it's up to us to be clinical with the chances we're getting.
"Every time we get a chance, we need to put it away.
"We're just over half-way through the season and these chances need to be put away.
"I haven't watched too many of their games but I know they're on a good run of form with a good manager.
"We know that they're going to come and try and continue that run of form. We have to be on it from minute one.”
McDonald is ready and looking forward to a busy second half to the season.
The 23-year-old has featured in every game so far this season and has been pleased with the faith Darrell Clarke has shown in him.
"It's been nice for the manager to put his trust in me and get minutes on the pitch,” he commented.
"For any player that is what you need. It feels good to be on the pitch as much as possible to try and help out the team.
"When I play games, that's the ultimate test. The three points is what we're looking for.
"A lot of these games coming up we have to get ourselves in good physical condition for them.
"We're looking forward to them.”
