Liam Kinsella pens new deal

5 January 2021

Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce that midfielder Liam Kinsella has signed a new contract with the club until 2023.

The 24-year-old has featured in every league game so far this season and is a key figure in the Saddlers midfield engine room.

Kinsella has made 154 appearances for Walsall, having come through the club’s academy.

He made his debut in August 2014 against Bradford City and his first goal followed in October 2015 against Burton Albion.

One of his most memorable moments in a Saddlers shirt was his stunning strike against Sunderland in the Emirates FA Cup second round replay back in December 2018.

Kinsella was delighted to sign a new deal with the club and is looking forward to continuing his journey at the Banks’s Stadium.

"I am delighted to sign a new deal with the club," Kinsella said.

"I have been here for a long time now and I am lucky enough to continue the journey with this great club.

"It was a very proud moment for me when I played my 150th game. I have signed a new deal now and hopefully I can continue to rack up the appearances for the club and I’d now like to go on and make 200, maybe even 250 appearances for the club."

Saddlers boss Darrell Clarke was also pleased see the midfielder sign fresh terms.

“I’m delighted Liam has signed a new contract with the club.

“He’s a great professional with a great attitude and he epitomises what I want at the football club so I’m pleased to continue working with him.”
