Walsall’s Josh Gordon joined a group of men and women for a Zoom call as part of the EFL’s ‘Team Talk’ campaign.
The initiative, launched in partnership with league charity partner Mind, was launched in an effort to help supporters stay connected during the winter period.
Gordon was joined by participants from Walsall FC Community Programme’s FIT SADDLERS and Walking Football activities sessions
The group took part in a Q&A with the Saddlers forward, asking him some of their questions about football and health.
Gordon, who is also the club’s Health ambassador for the PFA, said: “It was good to speak to everyone and there were some interesting questions too!
“It’s important to stay in touch with your friends during lockdown, and this call was a great way of doing that.
“Looking after your mental health is vital at the moment, so reaching out and talking to someone can go a long way.”
Chris Springthorpe, Health Officer at Walsall FC Community Programme, added: ‘Team Talk’ is a brilliant idea to bring people together in these tough times to talk about something they all have in common – football.
“Much of our Health delivery has been suspended for many months due to restrictions, so it was really good to speak to some of our participants and have a catch up, and fantastic for Josh to come on the call too.”
