Frank Vincent joins the Saddlers

20 January 2021

Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Frank Vincent on loan from AFC Bournemouth until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old spent the first half of the 2020/21 season on loan at fellow Sky Bet League Two side Scunthorope United where he featured eight times.

He also had two loan spells with Torquay United, helping them win the National League South title in 2019 before returning to Plainmoor for a second spell in the 2019-20 season.

Vincent is looking forward to playing at the Banks’s Stadium and is hoping to make an impression.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to be joining the Saddlers,” Vincent said.

“I’m hoping to get game time and help the team win games to get into the play offs. I want to help entertain the fans watching at home.

“From my time at Scunthorpe, I’ve realised how short the time is to make an impression. I’m going to take more risks in the right areas and express myself on the pitch.

“On the pitch, I’m a player who likes to combine with others and pass forward. I have a lot of energy to help the team going both ways.”

Saddlers boss Darrell Clarke is looking forward to working with Vincent and feels he will provide the team with another good option.

"We're delighted to bring Frank into the team,” said Clarke.

"He's left-footed and we see him as an attacking number eight.

"He can open things up, he can play in a two or in a three and he strengthens our midfield options.

"We haven't got a big squad so Frank will provide more competition for places in the second half of the season."

Vincent will wear the number 28 shirt.
