Wright enjoying life at Walsall

5 February 2021

Walsall winger Tyreik Wright has settled in well to life at the Banks’s Stadium and enjoyed making his debut against Port Vale.

The 19-year-old, on loan from Aston Villa, has already got an assist to his name after impressing against the Valiants two weeks ago.

Wright has slotted into the group well and was pleased to have got a taste of league football.

“It was a great experience for me being out there on the pitch after a long time,” he said.

“It was my first game in a month so just to be out there felt great.”

“It’s something I’ve been waiting for a long time. This season I wanted to go on loan but it never happened so I was preparing for the first six months of the season to go on loan in January and it happened for me.

“I’ve settled in really well; the lads have been very welcoming. I knew a few of the lads before I came which made it a lot easier so there’s more to come from me.”

Wright is keen to build on his performance at Port Vale and wants to excite the Saddlers fans while he is on loan here.

“For the remainder of the season it’s about getting more experience playing against different teams, different players and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season,” he said.

“When I play, I just love to get the fans off their feet and bring a bit of excitement and enjoy the game with a smile on my face.”
