White looking to kick on after 50th club appearance

10 December 2021

Saddlers defender Hayden White is looking to kick on after making his 50th appearance for the club.

The 26-year-old marked the milestone after appearing for Matt Taylor’s side in our Emirates FA Cup tie against Swindon Town last Saturday and is looking to use the achievement as a platform to build on moving forward.

I’m really happy to have made my 50th appearance for the club,” he said.

“It’s taken a little longer than I hoped for but I’m delighted to reach such a milestone.

“I had a good pre-season under my belt this year and I feel like I’ve found a level of consistency recently so long may that continue.

“I’m now looking to kick on and I feel like myself and the team are constantly progressing and we’ve built good relationships around the pitch. Myself and the lads at the back want to gain more clean sheets moving forward so fingers crossed we can achieve this part of our game heading into the second half of the season.”

Attentions turn to Saturday’s encounter when we welcome Hayden Mullins’ Colchester United to the Banks’s Stadium in Sky Bet League Two and White is determined to gain a positive result.

“We want to get back to winning ways,” he continued.

“We gained a point on Tuesday night but we felt disappointed in the changing rooms and that shows how far we have come; we’ve set high standards and expectations here and this is something that drives us forward as a team.

“It’ll be another tough game on Saturday but hopefully we can have a positive performance and result and send the fans home happy.”
