Walsall defender Dan Scarr believes the team have a bit more ‘bite’ about them this season.
The 25-year-old put in a commanding display against Leyton Orient on Tuesday night as the Saddlers stretched their unbeaten league run to 10 with a 2-1 victory.
Scarr believes Walsall will be a formidable side if they can convert more of their chances on goal but he feels the players have upped their game from last season.
"Training, in and around the dressing room, games - everyone has that bit of bite about them this season,” explained Scarr.
"Last season we were good players and we were gelling together towards the end and hitting home.
"We've carried that on this season and we just need to start picking up results and keep getting points on the board.
"We've been with each other for a good while now, the majority of the squad.
"In the last few games we've had loads of good chances and if they start going in, I think we'll be a good side, a proper good side.”
One man who continues to improve and impress is striker Elijah Adebayo who has got three goals to his name already.
Scarr and the team felt it was only a matter of time before the 22-year-old would start to fulfill his potential and he has been impressed with how he has started the season.
"He's come back, he looks fit and all the lads have been on to him for how good he is. Everyone is getting in his head and bigging him up,” said Scarr.
"Everyone has always said from the second he walked through the door, he's got such a talent and such a big potential.
"He's just a bully. He's technically good for a big man, he's good with his feet. He doesn't want the ball in the air, he wants it to his feet.
"He's starting to show himself really good.”
The Saddlers will now look to build on their midweek win when they take on Exeter City on Saturday.
