2 October 2020

Walsall midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe feels the team are moving in the right direction as they prepare to face Forest Green Rovers tomorrow afternoon.

The 24-year-old has bedded in well at the Banks’s Stadium and impressed in his most recent outing against Chelsea Under 21s on Tuesday night.

Osadebe admits there is still work to be done both as a team and individual but he has been pleased with how things have been going so far and the performance against Chelsea over the 90 minutes.

“I thought as a team we did well,” Osadebe said. “Individually, I still need to get a bit sharper but I’m still training and doing the extras and all the work.

“As a team I felt we did well, we nicked the ball, we pressed high but we just need to be a bit more clinical and take our chances in the final third but I think there’s positives and we are going in the right direction.”

The midfielder had a long absence from playing given that he left Macclesfield Town in January before the coronavirus pandemic ground football to a halt in March.

Having been back a month, he feels he slowly getting his sharpness back and has settled in well to life at the Banks’s Stadium.

“Personally, very good. Since I’ve come in the lads have been very good and so has the gaffer. I haven’t played since January so I’m slowly getting back into my stride but I am getting match fitness and in due time I’ll be back to 100% so personally it has been great.”
