Kinsella: "We'll be confident and positive going into the match"

13 October 2020

Walsall midfielder Liam Kinsella says the team are in a confident mood heading into tonight’s rearranged Sky Bet League Two clash with Leyton Orient.

The Saddlers maintained their unbeaten start on Saturday as they came from behind to draw against Colchester United.

Darrell Clarke’s side created a number of good opportunities against the U’s and Kinsella is confident that if the Saddlers can produce more of the same tonight, then they stand a good chance of earning three points.

"We have a game in hand and after that performance we'll be confident going into this one,” Kinsella said.

"Fingers crossed we can get something out of the game and hopefully move us up the table.

“It's another Tuesday game but we'll be positive and be confident going into the match.

"If we play like we did (against Colchester) we can create opportunities and put the game to bed.

"We're still unbeaten, taking it from last season and we're doing well. Hopefully we can continue that, it's a good record to have and take it as long as possible.”

Kinsella feels that the group are growing together and believes a lot of relationships are clicking into place on the pitch.

He is now hoping that the familiarity in the squad will translate into performances and points on the board.

"The first XI, 10 of us were here last year and we all know what we're about,” he explained.

"It's starting to come together now and we're all making options on the pitch and working together well.

"You see Elijah and Wes linking together, it's starting to come together and hopefully points can follow.”
