Whittaker enjoying new role as SLO

10 March 2020

I have been the Supporter Liaison Officer for two months and in that time, I have met some incredible supporters. I have been a supporter for over 50 years but it never ceases to amaze me how dedicated most of our supporters are.

We are a resilient bunch and the majority of supporters want a sustainable, successful club.

I have lots of contact from supporters with many ideas to move the club forward.

The Board and staff have been incredibly accommodating to your views and I look forward to hearing from many more Supporters.

There is lots of talk about the match day experience and the club are looking at ideas how it can be improved and I for one am very excited for the future.

These things won’t happen overnight but the club are listening to your views and changes are being made.

The new Bescot Community room which will replace the Bescot bar will be a great asset to the club during the week and on match days.

Most people agreed that the atmosphere at the Port Vale game was really good, having over 6000 plus supporters in the ground really does make a difference. Our Chairman has said it on many occasions that we need a regular home support over 5000. The club would be transformed on and off the pitch with that level of home support.

So, this is the time for all Supporters to get their early bird tickets and encourage friends and family to do the same.

You will see me in and around the ground on a matchday so please come and have a chat. I can always be contacted at slo@walsallfc.co.uk and assure you that your comments will be listened to by the club.
