Sheron: "It's mixed emotions"

27 January 2020

Walsall new boy Nathan Sheron felt mixed emotions after he made his debut for the club in the 2-1 defeat to Carlisle United.

Sheron joined the Saddlers on loan from Fleetwood Town on Tuesday and was thrown straight into the starting line-up for his first piece of league action of the season.

The 22-year-old was pleased to make his Saddlers debut but was frustrated by the result.

"It's mixed emotions,” said Sheron.

"It's obviously a proud moment to make my debut for Walsall, but it's obviously a frustrating game as we feel we should have come away with more.

"It was a frustrating afternoon.

"The set plays have killed us, it's disappointing to drop the points.

"We'll dust ourselves down and go again Tuesday.”

Sheron is now looking forward to making his bow at the Banks’s tomorrow night against Morecambe.

The Shrimps have had a tough season and are fighting to stay in the EFL but Sheron insists nothing is guaranteed and the Saddlers will be ready.

"You know what League Two is like, every team beats every team,” he explained.

"But we'll be ready, trying to dust ourselves down to go again.

"Of course, I am (looking forward to it).

"It's a nice big stadium with passionate fans.
