Walsall defender Cameron Norman feels the team spirit in the Saddlers camp is one of the best he has been involved in.
Norman has featured in each of the last three matches and is fine form going into tomorrow’s clash with Cheltenham Town.
The defender believes the team are seeing the benefits of getting through the difficult spell they had earlier in the season and feels the team spirit has played a huge part in the recent upturn in results.
“I think the team spirit is one of the best I’ve seen,” he said.
“The gaffer really drives that through us as well and the boys stick together through thick and thin.
“I think it’s almost a good thing that we’ve had that kind of period because now we won’t take this period for granted so like I said, the spirit in the group is good when we’re winning games or if the results aren’t going the right way we’ve got to stick together and that’s what we’ve been doing.”
Darrell Clarke’s side travel to Gloucestershire tomorrow to take on Michael Duff’s promotion chasing Cheltenham, who won 2-1 at the Banks’s Stadium in the reverse fixture back in October.
Norman is aiming to rectify that result and insists the squad will go there full of confidence.
“I think if we didn’t go into it on a bit of a high, we’d be doing ourselves an injustice,” he commented.
“It doesn’t mean we go there expecting to roll them over because they’re doing really well this season.
“We were disappointed when we had them at home that we didn’t really give our best that day so we’re definitely looking to rectify that but certainly going there on a high and expecting to get ourselves a result for the fans that will be travelling there.”
Tickets for tomorrow’s game are now sold out from the Banks’s Stadium Ticket Office but there will be 320 tickets available at a cash-turnstile at the Jonny Rocks Stadium.
