Soccer Schools youngsters meet the Saddlers

28 February 2020

Children on Walsall FC Community Programme’s February half-term Soccer Schools had the unique opportunity to meet their Saddlers heroes last week.

Manager Darrell Clarke invited the group to meet some of the players on the stadium astro turf after the first-team training session last Friday.

The players and coaching staff signed autographs, took photos and chatted about football with the youngsters.

After lunch, striker Elijah Adebayo and defender Zak Jules also took part in some of the Soccer Schools matches at the end of the day.

The pair then handed out prizes during WFCCP’s presentation and spoke to families in the Community Room.

Thursday afternoon also saw Walsall FC Academy players Sam Perry and Alex Petrovics getting involved in the Soccer Schools.

Martin Manley, Community Manager for Engagement, said: “It was great for the first team to get so involved with the children.

“Watching part of the training session was brilliant and the kids had a once in a lifetime opportunity when they were invited onto the pitch to meet them.
